そうだ、Siriに聞いてみよう！

体がだるいかも……まさかコロナ？と思ったら英語版Siriに聞いてみましょう。Siriがあなたの症状に関する質問して、どうすればいいかを教えてくれるようになりました。いつも通り「Hey, Siri」と話しかけて、英語で「Do I have coronavirus?（私、コロナに感染してる？）」と聞けばOK。

今回のSiriのコロナウィルスに対する質問・回答はアメリカ疾病管理予防センター（CDC）に提供されたものだそうです。「熱はありますか？」「咳をしていますか？」などコロナウィルスの症状に関する短い質問に「イエス」「ノー」「わからない」の3択で答えていきます。試しに「コロナウィルス陽性の人との接触がありましたか？」という問いに「わからない」と答えると、接触から14日間は咳などの症状に十分警戒してくださいとSiriが言ってくれました。

アメリカ疾病管理予防センターは、年齢が高い人、またすでに深刻な持病がある人はコロナウィルスで重篤化する恐れがあると発表していますので、Siriも「65歳以上の型、肺や心臓の病気がある人、糖尿病など健康状態がよくない人は医療機関に連絡するように」とアドバイスしてくれます。Siriの質問の答えがコロナウィルスの症状にバッチリあてはまっていると、Siriはすぐに救急に電話をかけるように教えてくれます。

またSiriは、ユーザーが医療機関に行くことが難しいと答えると、遠隔医療アプリをダウンロードするようオススメしてくれます。現在のところSiriのコロナウィルスに対するこのようなアドバイスはアメリカのユーザーのみに行なわれているようですが、これから世界各国に対応していくのかもしれないですね。

Siri can now respond to some coronavirus questions

 

If you ask your iPhone's voice assistant, "Hey Siri, do I have the coronavirus?" or a variant of the question, the Apple assistant will ask you a series of questions to give you an unofficial answer.

On March 21, CNBC reported that iPhone users equipped with the Siri voice assistant can ask the tool if they have the coronavirus to launch a verbal, CDC- and US Public Health Service-approved questionnaire that will make medical recommendations based on their answers.

Siri will ask users if they're experiencing common symptoms of Covid-19 like dry cough or a fever; those with potentially life-threatening symptoms will be advised to consider calling 911. People with less severe symptoms will be offered recommendations to stay home and avoid contact with others or to seek additional medical help.

Currently, Siri is only able to provide this experience to users in the United States. There's no word on whether the tool will be expanded outside the United States or not.
